Learn About Blackjack Myths to Avoid

There are myths that can cost you a lot. The following are myths that some players actually believe. If you believe in these myths you can actually lose money. Read below so you can avoid them.

Myth # 1 Blackjack's goal is to get cards as close to 21 as much as possible

This is not your goal. First, your goal is to beat the dealer and your second goal is to have 21.

Most of the time, your best option is to stand, however, this depends on the cards that you have and it also depends on the up card of the dealer.

Most players' common mistake is hitting when they can stand. Hitting can make their cards bust.

Myth # 2 Some players believe that bad and lousy players can make them lose.

No, no one can actually affect your game play. You lose because you lose, you win because you win.

Your opponent has no effect on your losing streak. Do not blame other people if you have a bad beat.

Myth # 3 Always buy insurance especially if you have blackjack.

No, never buy insurance especially if you have blackjack. This is one of the stupidest moves you can make in blackjack. Buying insurance means you are actually giving up 13% of your profit.

Myth # 4 Some players think that a dealer is hot.

If you are winning, it means that the deck is in your favor and if you are losing it means that the deck in in the dealer's favor.

In blackjack you have the right to make all the decisions while the dealer cannot decide for himself or herself. They are just simply following orders from the casino.

Myth # 5 When a player enters the game that is in progress it can cause other players at the table to lose the game.

This myth is similar to a player who left the table while in the middle of the game or a player decides to take another card.

No one can make you lose; their actions cannot affect your fate.

Myth # 6 Don't worry you are due to win soon after the dealer has won a few hands.

If you think that you will win next after the dealer has won 12 consecutive rounds you are wrong.

You are not due anything soon just because the dealer won this time. You will win with luck and chance and not because you are due to.

Your previous game will not affect your next game, nor can the previous game of the dealer affect your next game. Each game is independent from each round.

Myths are just that; myths. From the sense of the word it is just a statement not based on facts.
